This lot

Housing here is a mix: 1950s–70s ranches near downtown, canal homes in Gulf Harbors, and 80s–90s subdivisions east toward Little Road. Yards are smaller than Odessa and older than Trinity. Many have a concrete pad or a tired basin someone bought at a garden center in 1998.

Sandy fill over a high water table once you get near the Cotee. A deep pondless basin on a river-adjacent lot fights groundwater. We keep basins shallower here and armor the liner.

What actually fails here

What we see in New Port Richey is cheap pumps and iron-stained bowls. Irrigation overspray plus well water turns a white urn orange. Salt rides up from the Gulf on storm days even though this is not a beach town.

What we install here

Typical NPR job: reset or replace a courtyard bowl, hide the equipment, run a dedicated GFCI, and get the water moving again without digging a koi pond the city did not ask for.

People here want a fountain that sits in a real yard — live oak, pavers that already heave, a lanai that faces west and cooks the basin at 4 p.m.

Downtown lots near Sims Park are tight. A three-tier garden-center fountain eats the whole courtyard. We would rather set a single bowl with a proper splash rim than crowd the walk with a wedding-cake that throws water onto the front door.

East of Little Road the lots open up and a pondless fall starts to make sense. That is still this city, still this domain, still a different hole in the ground than a canal lot.

If the fountain you have already sits in the yard and just stopped, start with repair. A new install on an NPR ranch is a conversation about power, shade, and whether the well water will stain the stone in a season.

How we get there

We treat Sims Park, the Cotee River walk, and Grand Boulevard as the center of town. From there it is a short hop to Gulf Harbors west and Magnolia Valley east. US 19 is the main strip; we use it to get there, we do not design for it.

Pasco rarely wants a permit for a recirculating fountain on a residential lot. Electrical for a new circuit is the part that needs a licensed pull. We do not skip that.

Questions we get on this street

Do you install in downtown New Port Richey?

Yes. Tight lots near Sims Park and Grand Boulevard are normal. We measure the courtyard before we talk about a piece.

Can you work around the Cotee River setbacks?

A recirculating fountain on the house side of the lot is usually fine. We do not drop a basin into the riverbank.

Freeze nights, algae, room on the truck. A few times a year. Not a weekly blast.
